Great news BEDE Events are to take over the running of the popular Bentley Woodfair 2019; a celebration of woodlands, forestry, nature, sustainability, woodcraft, artisan skills and the big outdoors - all on the beautiful Bentley Estate in Lewes, East Sussex.
The fair takes place from 20-22 September and welcomes craftsmen such as Underwoodsman, the Woolly Umbrella Group, Jeff Higley canoe builder and the South of England Hedge Laying Society.
Frankie Woodgate will be demonstrating how she uses her horses to manage woodlands and harvest timber from places unreachable for machines. Horse loggers work through the whole range of timber produced in British woodlands, from small coppice poles and firewood, through thinnings in soft and hard woods up to final crop.
Chris Jupp, with his dog and ducks will be showing off skills and commands used to guide the animals around short courses.
The three days will be packed with arena attractions for the whole family, including refreshments, falconry and shopping. Chopperwhoppers will be supplying fresh artisan handcrafted rolled ice cream and Septimus Spyder Drinks will provide medieval mead, ales and ciders.
