The inside of White Lodge underwent a complete rennovation having not been touched it seemed since 1965 when it was built. All the work was completed by the end of January 2015 just before the opening of our home as a new luxury Bed and Breakfast in Lewes East Sussex. Our guests have kindly voted us the number one Trip Advisor B&B in Lewes, a title we are proud to have retained since before summer. We are delighted that all our hard work has paid off and that guests enjoyed their stay wether it was their sumptous rooms delicious Aga breakfasts or chilling with friends on the new roof terrace. We are looking forward to meeting new guests from around the world and welcoming back our Glyndebourne guests for the Glyndebourne Festival Summer in 2016,
Now its the time for the transformation of the gardens that surround White Lodge. The garden has been stripped of all the old dead shrubs and trees and is undergoing the beginning of its new life as a more contemporary space to be enjoyed by our guests in 2016. Thanks to Mark and his landscaping team from Organic Matters for all their hard work this month stripping out, planting new trees and shrubs and laying new turf - yes in December! We even put down grass seed much to the pheasants and wild birds delight!
Today after transplanting some bulbs to new areas in the garden I was rewarded by a stroll across the garden only to see the new Cameillia Silver Anniversary in full bloom, a beautiful sight on a lovely sunny December day.
